Google Analytics Short Cuts - The Book You Needed When You Were Setting Up That Tricky Account
September 25, 2007I’m a big fan of Justin Cutroni’s stuff, and his blog posts have helped me decipher the intricacies of setting up advanced Google Analytic accounts in the past, so I was happy when his ebook got published by O’Reilly.
And the even better news, It’s only $9.99 $6.50(with discount code: DSUG). - €4.60
The Guff -
This Short Cut provides a thorough description of how the Google Analytics system works, information about many different types of implementations, and ways to avoid common pitfalls. It also shares some best practices to get your setup correct the first time.
It’s well worth it for beginners and those familiar with setting up and managing GA profiles, especially the trickiness of dealing with E-Commerce reporting options and the various UTM_ variables.
While I’m plugging books, Avinash Kaushik’s Web Analytics: An Hour a Day is another brilliant book on the subject
(no affiliate links for either of those books, they’re just great web analytic books)
